NDS completed its six years of existence. The program took place amidst activities like dance and mime. The students were made aware about the journey of the NDS and need of a sustainable livelihood.

NDS took this as an opportunity to spread awareness about deaf culture, the challenges and the abilities of the deaf. The Adobe staff came forward and showed interest in learning Sign language and also actively gathered knowledge about volunteering options to help deaf develop skills.

The HCL team under their CSR initiative visited NDS to learn about deafness. A special session on orientation to sign language was organised for them after which they played games with our students.

Every year NDS participate in four days long sensitization workshop for students from Sardar patel Vidyalaya. The workshop was conducted by a Deaf Trainer who taught them basics of Sign language. The students also visited our centre and presented mime for NDS.

An exposure visit for students was conducted to help them understand basics of banking by visiting various departments within a bank and the responsibility of these departments.

The company has decided to scale up the recruitment of the deaf youth in their outlets across Delhi NCR. A special sensitization and orientation workshop was conducted with the managers and other staff members. The focus was on the abilities and constraints of the deaf, to make the work place at Costa more inclusive and responsive to the needs of the Deaf.

A team of 6 students from NDS took part in the tournament held at Fatefgarh Sahib in Punjab. Our students competed with participants from all over India. One of our students Rachna Gupta won first prize in girl's competition.

NDS conduct a session for teachers/educators from various public schools who are working with differently abled children to give them an insight into Deafness. The focus of the workshop was training options available for educators working with Deaf children.

Volunteers from Barclays conducted a session on Life skills and Work Ethics for our students. The objective of the session was to share about the basic soft skills that are required at the work place.

A felicitation ceremony for students who completed MS Office and DTP and Graphic Design course took place on 27th Feb 2010. Mr. P. Rajendran, COO, NIIT Ltd honored the occasion.

NDS team was invited to present a mime at Barclays. Everybody enjoyed themselves and had a great time.

NDS organized a visit to National Gallery of Modern Art in Delhi for DTP and Graphic Design students. The students studies modern art sculptures and architectural models. The visit can help students to learn art new concepts and perspectives which they can incorporate in their future works.
