The girls at NDS were in for a pleasant surprise when a team from Blossom Kochchar college of Creative Arts and Design visited NDS and carried out hair cutting session for the girls.

Dental Check- up camp was organized at NDS in association with one of our partnering organization- Caring Hands for Children. Time and again we promote Health check–up camps at NDS to educate students on best health practices and imbibing in them hygiene habits.

Students of Amar Jyoti Charitable Trust visited NDS. These students are currently pursuing Diploma in Intellectual Disabilities to be future trainers. They wanted to know more about Deafness and its challenges. They visited all classes collecting information about teaching pedagogy and visual techniques best suited to impart education to the deaf students.

Embrace, an initiative we have been working on for really long formalized in the month of July. The project is now being piloted at NDS in association with Shangri La hotel. In this training program students will undergo intense training in hospitality industry for three months at the end of which they will receive certificates from Shangri La Hotel.

In the month of August certificates ceremony for our MS Office and Indian Sign Language batches took place. All the students who cleared the final evaluation conducted by NIIT proudly received their certificates from Ms. Sapna Modgil of NIIT foundation.

We had the chance of hosting Deputy CEO –Noida Authority, Mr. N. P. Singh at NDS. He personally met all the teachers and was intrigued by day to day working of NDS. Mr. Singh also brought delicious snacks for our students who had a great time relishing them.

NDS started a new training centre in August at Prem Nagar, Delhi. The centre is a pilot initiative for NDS, started in collaboration with NIIT foundation. It has been well received in the community.

Adobe Systems Pvt. Ltd initiated an employee volunteering programme facilitated through Charities Aid Foundation. Three experts from Adobe- Srijan, Vijay and Nandan have been dedicatedly devoting couple of hours every week and they have been conducting sessions on Adobe Photoshop with our students of DTP and Graphic Design.

Ruma Roka, Head and General Secretary of NDS, visited Mumbai to facilitate employment of two of our networking students for the profile of Information Technology Outsourcing at Mphasis, an HP Company. While Mphasis Pune has been employing our deaf students, it was a first time for Mumbai. The objective of the visit was to sensitize the team and share more about the abilities of our students with them. She also facilitated on the job training to the two of our students who are now a part of Mphasis Mumbai.
